Résumé : Ce commentaire entend contester l’idée qu’une analyse en termes de domination masculine ne permettrait plus à la psychologie sociale de comprendre les rapports contemporains entre les sexes. En nous appuyant sur les réflexions matérialistes du féminisme, nous montrons que l’argumentaire mobilisé pour appuyer cette thèse repose sur une utilisation contestable de concepts issus des études de genre. Il en découle une compréhension faussée du fonctionnement des structures patriarcales : réduction de la domination masculine à sa dimension symbolique et psychologique, négligence des pratiques masculines d’oppression et du caractère coercitif du système de genre, restriction de l’hétérosexualité à une orientation sexuelle. De nouvelles perspectives de recherche en psychologie sociale sont alors suggérées, en continuité avec les travaux féministes actuels dans le champ des études de genre.
Title: Should social psychology really do away with an analysis in terms of male domination? A comment on Manuel Tostain (2016)
Abstract: This comment aims to challenge the idea that an analysis in terms of male domination would no longer allow social psychology to understand contemporary gender relations. Drawing on the materialist reflections of feminism, we show that the arguments mobilized to support this thesis are based on a questionable use of concepts drawn from gender studies. The result is a distorted understanding of how patriarchal structures function, such as: the reduction of male domination to its symbolic and psychological dimensions; the neglect of male oppressive practices and the coercive nature of the gender system; and the restriction of heterosexuality to a sexual orientation. New research perspectives in social psychology are then suggested, in continuity with current feminist work in the field of gender studies.

Résumé : L’attention portée aux problèmes rencontrés par les psychologues cliniciens dans leur activité professionnelle a engendré, depuis quelques années, une approche basée sur la résilience. Aucune publication disponible n’apporte, toutefois, des informations issues de l’évaluation de la résilience chez ces psychologues et le présent article présente les premières données sur ce sujet. À cette recherche, menée à Bucarest (Roumanie), ont participé 108 psychologues cliniciens, 91 femmes et 17 hommes (âge moyen : 33,9 ans), auxquels a été administrée l’échelle de résilience Connor-Davidson (CD-RISC) à 25 items. La grande dispersion des scores attire l’attention, d’une part, sur la nécessité de l’introduction d’une formation sur la résilience au cours des études universitaires et, d’autre part, sur le développement d’une culture des soins auto-administrés chez les cliniciens.
Title: Resilience in clinical psychologists
Abstract: The attention paid to the problems encountered by clinical psychologists in their professional activity has led to the development, in recent years, of a resilience-based approach. However, no available publication provides information on the assessment of resilience among these psychologists. This article therefore presents the first data on this topic. This research, carried out in Bucarest (Romania), involved the participation of 108 clinical psychologists – 91 women and 17 men (average age: 33.9 years) – who were administered the 25-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). The wide dispersion of scores draws attention to the need, on the one hand, to introduce resilience training into clinical psychology courses, and, on the other hand, to develop a culture of self-care among clinicians.

Résumé : Les réponses physiologiques et psychologiques humaines en environnement chaud sont assez bien documentées. Cependant dès que l’on s’intéresse au climat tropical (CT) on observe que la plupart des travaux portent sur l’activité physique et peu d’entre eux s’intéressent au fonctionnement cognitif. Cet article fait une revue des principales études portant sur les tâches cognitives réalisées en CT en se fondant sur les résultats obtenus en environnement chaud et peu humide. Les différents facteurs qui peuvent influencer les performances cognitives, en CT ou en condition de stress thermique, sont développés, puis un point est fait sur les récentes techniques utilisées afin de tenter de limiter les effets délétères du stress climatique. Enfin, un regard est porté sur les principales théories, telle que la Global Workspace Theory, utilisées pour interpréter les données de la littérature avant de conclure sur des recommandations et pistes de recherches.
Title: Cognitive function in tropical climates
Abstract: The physiological and psychological responses to environmental heat stress have been well established. However, when it comes to tropical climates, most studies deal with exercise, and the impact on cognition is unclear. This article reviews the main studies on cognitive tasks performed in tropical climates. Various factors can influence cognition in hot and/or humid environments, such as subjective states, humidity, dehydration, or fatigue. These factors can have an impact on cognitive performance by using part of the neural resources that are available in limited quantities. The resources, which are allocated to different tasks or activities, may be insufficient and lead to deterioration in performance in cognitive tasks carried out in a tropical environment. We look at the main theories, such as Global Workspace Theory, used to interpret the data in the literature. Likewise, theoretical insight is shed on recent applied and innovative physiological cooling techniques and psychological strategies used in an attempt to limit the deleterious effects of the thermal environment.

Résumé : L’éthique est au cœur des préoccupations des organisations, des institutions et des professionnels. Elle est mobilisée dans les décisions quotidiennes du travail. Ces choix induisent des fluctuations entre consonance et dissonance en lien avec les valeurs personnelles et professionnelles. Cet article a pour objectif d’explorer le continuum consonance-dissonance éthique dans des situations de travail. Nous avons utilisé une analyse phénoménologique interprétative pour questionner le quotidien de huit travailleuses sociales, conseillères en Économie sociale familiale, intervenant sur le même territoire d’action sociale. Les résultats ont mis en évidence, dans le quotidien du travail, une éthique des petits pas qui induit des variations sur le continuum consonance - dissonance éthique. Ces oscillations quotidiennes entre satisfaction et frustration pourraient être une source de dissonance éthique.
Title: The ethics of small steps in daily work: Using interpretative phenomenological analysis
Abstract: Ethics is at the heart of the concerns of organizations, institutions, and professionals. It is mobilized in daily work decisions. These choices induce fluctuations, between consonance and dissonance with personal and professional values. This paper aimed to explore the ethical consonance-dissonance continuum in work situations. We used an interpretative phenomenological analysis to study the daily life of eight social workers, Family Economic Advisers, working in the same social action territory. The results revealed an ethics of small steps in daily work that induces variations on the ethical consonance-dissonance continuum. These daily oscillations between satisfaction and frustration could be a source of ethical dissonance.
